Guest Speaker is Luba Ahuva Perlov, a Chasidic artist, journalist, inspirational speaker, life coach and performer. The Men’s Club of Beth Hillel Bnai Emunah Congregation, 3220 Big Tree Lane, Wilmette will host a Food for Thought Breakfast at 9:45 a.m.  Rick Rosenfeld, Executive Director for Hands of Peace will be the guest speaker discussing empowering young Americans, Israelis and Palestinians as leaders of change.

Monday, January 14

Max and Benny’s is hosting its first “Open Mic” at 7 p.m. Moderator for the event is author and lecturer Richard Reeder. Customers are invited to share stories of family, friendships, work and community. Sign-up to be a storyteller for the evening will begin at 5:30 on a first come basis. The program will start at 7. Friday evening Shabbat service at 6 p.m. featuring Rachman Nagwere, Ugandan musical artist and Rabbi Capers Funnye, Beth Shalom B’nai Zaken Ethiopian Hebrew Congregation with a Q&A and dessert reception to follow. Saturday morning Shabbat service at 9:30 a.m. featuring Beth Shalom Cantor Steven Stoehr, The Cantors’ Assembly Mission to Uganda and Stacey Aviva Flint, Intersectionality: Managing Societal Biases as a Black Jewish Woman.
